It all began on February 13th, 2021—just one day before Valentine’s Day—in Brooklyn, NY. Margot had recently moved to New York City to do travel nursing during the pandemic, and Lenny was living on Long Island, where he grew up. Margot decided to give dating in NYC a try, and her very first Bumble match (and date!) was with Lenny.

They started chatting and quickly realized there was something different about their connection. After a few days of conversation, they made plans to meet in person.

Their first date was at a cozy little Dominican restaurant in Brooklyn. The two of them talked nonstop, totally lost in conversation until the restaurant closed... and then stayed open another hour just to watch them fall for each other.

From that night on, their connection only grew stronger. They took turns planning dates in the city and out on Long Island, getting to know each other through long drives, good food, and endless laughter. As the months passed, it became clear to both of them—this was something special.

Margot began signing more nursing contracts to stay in NYC, and Lenny started considering a big move—possibly to Texas—when the time came for Margot to return home. After about a year and a half, that time arrived. Margot was ready to head back to Texas, and Lenny made the incredible decision to move with her.

Since then, their relationship has been filled with love and adventure. From beach escapes in Punta Cana to an unforgettable four-month journey across Southeast Asia, they’ve built a life full of beautiful memories and growth. Margot started a brand-new career, and Lenny is now finishing nursing school—supporting each other every step of the way.

On Valentine’s Day 2024, just after the third anniversary of their first date, Lenny proposed and asked Margot to keep building this amazing life together.

One place that holds a special piece of their love story is The Rice Ranch. It’s where Margot spent time growing up, surrounded by family and friends, and one of the very first places she brought Lenny when he visited Texas. Over the years, they’ve shared countless memories there—sun-soaked pool days, quiet evenings by the fire, and deep conversations about life, love, and the future they dreamed of building together.

Now, they can’t wait to return to The Rice Ranch, this time with all of their favorite people, to celebrate the love story that began with a bold first date... and led to forever.
